DeanTells - Culture Jamming

I'm not talking about Jamming as in jamming guitar with your mates every Wednesday night. The term Culture Jamming which I'm saying here is the tactic often used by activists to disrupt the mainstream idea about their cultural icon. In contemplation, the way where people got their minds fucked in less than 3 minutes by watching television.

How's that possible you may ask.

Imagine that you are watching tally with your family or friends or if you're used to live alone, imagine that you are sitting on your wooden uncomfortable chair and aiming your remote control at your tally. You are browsing the channels and stopped at Friends sitcom. After a minute laughing at Chandler Bing's geeky joke, suddenly a sinister like man appeared in the tally, broadcasting random scary facts to the viewers about the government. How would you feel then? Would you freak out? Would you feel like, " wow, how could this guy hacked into the government big satellite?".

This had happened in the late 80's . A guy called himself Captain Midnight  had hijacked the HBO channel when some 4m people were watching The Falcon and The snowman. Another television signal hijacking had happened as well in 1987. A man put a random laugh and smacked his ass with a flies smack, concealing himself under a Max Headroom mask when some 3m people were watching weather forecast . Both the men who hijacked the national security network satellite were unknown and are still roaming in your city. He might be living in your neighbourhood.

Although this seems very mundane and boring because the tally hackers had merely disturbed the lives of millions a minute or two of their lowlife time, however this network tv hi-jacking would cause a major upheaval to the lives of many if it were to fall in the hands of badass-menacing-sinister-asshole-guy.

Think about it. What would happen if a false information were to be broadcast in the national tally? What if this expert hijacking jackass able to broadcast something out of ordinary? Like; telling the world that Gordon Brown has shot-gunned David Cameron in the House of Common's Gentlemen Washroom, bullshiting the Christianitian and Muslim world that Barack Obama has converted into muslim, informing the world that Chris Rock's Everybody Hate Chris show was based on false story, and telling the world that nuclear war has erupted in Europe. How would you feel? Would you believe the crazy's man false informations?

I think this is where Matthew Abram "Matt" Groening has got his idea to create Sideshow Bob and one of the episode, where Sideshow Bob confuses the citizen of Springfield and Homer starts to get panic and stuff. Would you be like Homer?

Q: What would you want to broadcast in national television if you were able to do a broadcast signal intrusion? If me, I would just broadcast one of RayWilliamJohnson's viral video. So that everyone could smile on his creativity in editing videos of people getting hurt.
