I have just watched the movie 2012, and it is not as interesting as it looks like when I watched the trailer long time ago in youtube.com. To me, the movie is quite shallow. Shallow as in, there is no interesting or nail-biting scenes that would make you jump up your seats. There is no people get killed by the magma or heads flying in the air or may be Barrack Obama gets his brain spurted out. I am very disappointed when that fat-vice president guy is still alive until the end of the movie. And how come that Indian scientist got murdered by a tsunami along with his family. Is it racist? Killing kaling is a laughing matter? I think so. haha
The essence of the movie is trying to tell us what would happen if the earth's core gets heated up and causes the crust to move crazily. Well, go watch the movie and look at it's special effects; the whole part of New York gets crumbled up, tall buildings crushes to the ground, cuisine ship gets flipped by the wave and many more thrilling scenes. But again, as interesting it may look, it is utterly fake. Why? Because in the real end of the world in the future, the planets would knock each other up in the universe. Do you think by building a big giant arch would save the human race? We need gigantic space ships to get away from earth or the solar system then. If it would be possible. And also, I don't believe in luck. In the movie, John Cusack was like Matt Damon in Bourne. He could escape the nature's wrath by merely driving a very long limousine and a green caravan heroically and brilliantly. How cool is that? Is he a super-hero taxi driver? How epicly unbelievable the movie was?
All the emotional dramatic scenes have bored me to sleep. Especially when that big-shot Russian guy sacrifices himself in order to save his 2 fat sons. But I like when Woody Harrelson and John Cusack discuss the end of the world over a beer and Harrelson shows his witty blog. And the blog is super cool. And Harrelson is funny as well. I remember his previous role as a crazy cowboy crack-head in Zombieland.

The whole point of the movie is, Roland Emmerich, the ex-director of Independence day and Alien vs Predator, shows off what he has learned in University of Television and Film Munich's and apply his skill to direct a special effect action genre movie. Perhaps when he was just a student, having a booze and partying like crazy ( look at his German man), he suddenly decided to enroll in film director in his school and soon after, he excels in his directorship. Read more in Roland Emmerich, the accidental director.
However, although to me the graphics is not as 'special effects' as my favourite real-time online video game; DOTA ( click here as well), :D but I love the movie's plot. How a divorce guy becomes a hero to his ex-family, how the ex-husband becomes reunited again with his wife and with his son when the God gets mad, how the crazy-guy who knows about the Mayan calender gets smashed by volcanic magma rock, how the family forgets about the 'new' husband when he falls down the turbine and how Barrack Obama gets killed by a huge cuisine ship! An extremely epic story lines. I just adore it on how the pieces become together at the end.

The kid looks like an ape. John Cusack looks like McCartney.
Q: How come the Director decides to use the Mayans bullshit again when it has already been taken in the first Alien vs Predator movie?
